Yes, I was a DJ once... a long time ago...

...and it was very short-lived! I borrowed a mixer, advertised in the local paper as Live Wire Disco - ‘Quality at a price you can afford’ and got a booking at a children’s party.

Only then did I realise that I didn’t have much vinyl, so recorded the top 40 off the radio onto cassettes and used them instead.

Unfortunately: The children noticed what I was doing and told their Mum.

Fortunately: She was in the kitchen getting drunk with her friends and didn’t mind.

Lesson: Prep the job thoroughly to avoid stress and disappointment!

Fast forward 40+ years and we provide all manner of sound systems for DJs at lots of lovely events. Recently we did the sound for Mark Ronson at a private party at Battersea Arts Centre and Grandmaster Flash at a Bar Mitzvah.

You never know what the next gig will be. But at least nowadays our preparation is significantly better than that of Live Wire Disco.
