  • CUBAN-THEMED PARTY

     

    This party by a leading party organiser transported guests to a Cuban-themed fantasy world via a beautiful set, dancers, flowers, authentic cocktails, excellent entertainment and outstanding sound.

     

    There were many different requirements. At one end of the main room there was a 14-piece Cuban band; at the other end, with a different sound system, Mark Ronson did a DJ set. Between them was a small stage for speeches and a bunch of roaming mariachi musicians. We also provided suitable atmospheric sound effects for an authentic Cuban cafe and street scene.

     

    The venue had strict noise restrictions and at the design stage sought our advice on how to avoid any licence breaches. We recommended acoustic drapes, checked all the triple-glazed windows to ensure they met the specifications and kept a careful eye on the decibel meter.

     

    This was one of the best parties we have had the privilege of providing sound for, and the hosts were delighted.

    THREE DAYS OF LUXURY  

     

  • BIRTHDAY PARTY IN THE BALKANS 

     

    A party for 150 guests over three days in a luxurious private village by the sea. Our client was a large London-based event production company. We supplied all the audio as part of their team.

     

    The gear had to be shipped in advance. It took a crew of 60 luggers more than 12 hours to offload it into the village, up narrow steep steps for some of the way. For the event we had a crew of eight for five days including set-up and we were on call 24/7.

     

    Events that required sound systems included:

    • DJ sets by a swimming pool
    • A reception with speeches by another pool
    • A set by Roger Hodgson of Supertramp on the beach
    • Sets by Simply Red and Jamie Callum on a clifftop stage

    We also provided a massive hidden sound system for a firework display on a barge moored beside the village.

     

    This was a complex gig in every respect, and it was a good demonstration of our capabilities.

  • NILE RODGERS AND CHIC 

     

    A party for a large City-based company organised by our client – a leading creative and technical production company.

     

    There were speakers from the firm, special guests, including David Coulthard, and stage acts, including Nile Rodgers and Chic plus DJ Annie Mac. Lots of diverse sound requirements that all had to be managed.

     

    We liaised with Nile's team about the band requirements and provided a full production rider.

     

    A night like this is successful from a sound point of view when you use your ears and keep finessing and polishing the sound throughout the night. And it was!
