Built in 1903 as the Talbot Sunbeam Car showroom this grade II listed building is a top photographic studio, but with houses just 20m from the north façade turning it into a nightclub for a private party was a tall order.
We had to generate 'a lot' of noise Inside yet not hear it outside. The 120 year old sash windows were not up to it so a temporary fix was necessary.
Calculation and design led to an integrated solution. A highly directional sound system that concentrated its energy on the revellers, coupled with a resonant dance floor that vibrated in sympathy with the sub woofers, and extensive absorption built Into the décor.
The result was a party that defied feasibility, yet happened without complaint.
